I first met Marshall some time in 2006 as his Public Adjuster, so for next 11 years, I sat in his office for hours discussing ins claims but mostly it was Marshal telling me fascinating life stories. Marshall had a great sense of humor. One time, I needed the lock box combination for one of his buildings, so he ran off 50 random numbers to me until I caught on to his joke. The actual code was 4 numbers. It was my favorite part of the day, usually during lunch just before his nap. I truly miss him and our legendary sit down discussions. Marshall witnessed unimaginable horror during WW2, but still persevered with courageous acts is what makes Marshall tick, a true inspiration.
Honestly, there should be a movie made about his incredible life. From meeting Babe Ruth, to playing basketball for Ray Meyers, teammates with George Mikan, WW2, moving to Miami Beach to sell door to door a fairly new invention called air conditioning. As I recall, he would sell the A/C system, change into work clothes and install it. He later sold the A/C company in 1962, which there's a classic photo taken of Marshall, his attorney and 10 or so unhappy bankers. Guess who is the only one smiling? Yup, Marshall. I loved that photo and Marshall's recount of events was priceless.
He was more then a client, a good friend and wish I've known him longer. Marshall lived 10 life times based on his accomplishments and account of historical events.
Always thinking of " what would Marshall do"
Marshall, I am sure your keeping business but take some rest my friend, you earned it.
Your Consulaire,
