Robert Maurice Barnett Sr.
March 21, 1935 - January 13, 2022
Robert Maurice Barnett, Sr, 86, passed away on January 13th, 2022 from natural causes, at home in North Miami, Florida with loving family. Even though he has departed from this world we know he is at peace after living strong for five and half years incapacitated and bed ridden. Mr. Barnett was born in Brighton, England on March 21st, 1935 to Ida and Alexander Barnett. He escaped the violence of WWII in Europe to emigrate to the Bahamas as a young boy with his mother and sister. He was member of the Bahamian Toast Masters while in the Bahamas. After many adventures and successes he married his beautiful wife, Esther Gertrude Ward Barnett on September 4, 1973 and raised his family. Mr. Barnett emigrated to the United States and began a new life in Miami, Florida as a US citizen. Bob, as he liked to be called, is survived by his three children: Jean J. Barnett, Robert M. Barnett, Jr., Ann P. Barnett and his six grandchildren. His love of books, art and beauty could be seen in the lifelong hobby of collecting Stamps, Books, Cars, Coins, Sports Cards and Antique English Furniture. He also had a great love of nature and spent many long hours in his garden of beautiful, exotic plants. Bob’s ability to discuss any topic and make jokes at the drop of a hat was his trademark. He was a hard worker and a dedicated family man to the end and we will truly miss Bob Barnett.
