Thomas "Tom" Andrew Braverman
April 8, 1945 - January 17, 2022
Thomas Andrew Braverman, Tom, was born on April 8, 1945 and died on January 17 2022. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Ruth Roney Braverman and William Braverman. His Mother was an amateur opera singer who later became a social director, night club owner, and docent at the Bass museum. Tom was very close to and very proud of her., His dad was a real estate attorney. They came to Miami when he was a child. He attended Miami Beach High, went to college with a major in Hospitality Management, and worked at the Fontainebleau when Ed Sullivan, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack ruled. As a young man he loved rubbing shoulders with the celebs of the time. He was full of stories about Bob Hope joking around with him, and all the women he met in the private elevator that went up to Frank Sinatra's suite. When the republican convention was held at the Fontainebleau in 1972, he became a republican and acted in a little skit the Young Republicans put on for the crowd. Later he joked that the location of Republican headquarters was too far a drive for him so he handed in his card. In his mature years, he worked for Keyes Realty and was, for a long while, their number one nursing home salesman. He travelled the country, and the world, and kept us entertained with his stories and startling wit. His beverage of choice was Mountain Dew. His favorite color was green. He fought to retain his self determinism and his dignity until the end. Alzheimers took much from him, but could not touch his compassionate heart. Never a kinder or more gentle man lived.
