January 16, 1936 – January 30, 2026
Aaron Ira Paul, a lifelong resident of Troy, New York, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, in Delmar, New York. Born on January 16, 1936, Aaron was the owner and manager of Rogers Jewelers in Troy and Latham, a family business he took over from his father and ran for nearly 50 years.
A graduate of the University of Rochester with a degree in Business Administration, Aaron attended Troy public schools and was deeply rooted in his community. After retiring from the jewelry business, he and his wife, Judith (Lipson), relocated to the Ft. Lauderdale/Weston area of Florida, where they enjoyed almost 20 years of retirement. In 2024, Aaron made the heartfelt decision to return to Troy to spend his remaining years close to family and friends.
Aaron was an avid sportsman with a passion for golf and tennis. In his early adulthood, he was a dedicated golf aficionado, achieving a 4 handicap, and after age 40, he embraced tennis, reaching a competitive level of 4.5. A lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, Aaron was known for his quick wit and sophisticated sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his wife Judith; his parents, Samuel and Shirley Paul; and his brother-in-law, William Uscher. Aaron is survived by his devoted sister, Lois Uscher; his children Jeffrey Paul (Patricia), Laura Von Ellen (Nick Guido), and Marlene Keller (William); grandchildren Nicole Zuk (Benjamin), Karen Laiacona, Samuel Laiacona, Alexandra Stover (Adam), Tara Kenney (Christopher), and Joshua Paul; as well as great-grandchildren Benjamin Stover, Ethan Stover, Norah Stover, Nolan Kenney, Sofia Kenney, Henry Zuk, and Dylan Zuk.
