Abraham "Al" Schor's Obituary
SCHOR, Abraham “Al”, age 97, died peacefully at his home in Miami, Florida on Sunday, May 25, 2014. Al was born on December 4, 1916, in Brooklyn, NY to Philip and Pearl Schor. He married Sylvia Joselson on April 26, 1940, and together they had a daughter, Phyllis. As a result of the Great Depression, Al had to forgo a college education and go right to work. He spent much of his life working as a musician playing the clarinet and saxophone in venues from New York to Miami.
Abraham is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Louis Small of Monroe, NJ, his three grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Susan Small of Toms River, NJ, Nicole and Michael Peto of Monroe, NJ, and Jocelyn and Zachary Gershen of Wayne, NJ, his nine beloved great- grandchildren, Jamie, Courtney, Robbie, Jared, Cassidy, Jordyn, Jake, Julianna, and Adam, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Sylvia Schor, of 67 years, his parents, Philip and Pearl, and his sister, Dorothy Reichenthal and her husband Charles. Chapel Service Wednesday, May 28th at 11:30 A.M. at Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 18840 W. Dixie Hwy, North Miami Beach. Interment at Lakeside Memorial Park
