Alan Danis' Obituary
Alan Danis, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Nov. 20. He was a genuinely good man with a generous heart, loving soul, quick mind and delightful wit. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1938, he met his wife, Lois, in summer camp and they shared 54 wonderful years. Alan held BS and MA degrees in Engineering and Engineering Management from Brooklyn Polytech and Newark College of Engineering. He was a researcher for RCA Corporation, and helped design heart pacemakers at Cordis Corporation. He had a second career as Litigation Paralegal at Holland and Knight, Miami. Alan loved jazz, sports, travel, corny jokes and most of all, time with friends and family, especially special trips with each grandchild and a summer working with Lois at Yellowstone National Park. He loved to help people. He volunteered at Joe Diamaggio Hospital, Mishcan Miami visitation program, and was president of Adath Yeshuran, North Miami Beach, assisting with its merger with Beth Torah Congregation. Active with the Men’s Club, attending daily minion and services regularly, Alan enjoyed many Adult Education classes and was a Melton Jewish Education Program graduate. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, sons Stephen and Ken, daughter Jane, daughters–in-law Susu and Jodi and eight grandchildren, Rachel, Zack, Elliot, Peter, Samantha, Jacob, Ethan and Max. Funeral: 11:30 am Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Levitt Weinstein Eternal Light Funeral Service Center, 18840 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida 33180 (305) 932-2700. Burial: Lakeside Memorial Park. Donations in Alan’s memory may be made to Beth Torah Synagogue Adult Education Fund.
