Alberto "Beto" Gordon's Obituary
Alberto “Beto” Gordon, 79, of Miami Gardens, Florida passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at St. Catherine’s Hospital. Alberto was born March 9, 1939 in La Lima, Honduras to Charlie and Leonor Gordon. In 1957 Alberto graduated from Escuela Guardiola in Honduras. Alberto loved soccer to the point that he played for El Sula, El Millionario and El Olimpia. He also coached soccer for El Hempira, Cino Estrellas, and El Honduras de Miami.
Alberto met his beloved wife, Alma Zulema of 58 years, while attending a party at El Alfa in 1958. Because Alma was Alberto’s true love he decided that he wanted better opportunies and therefore relocated his family to the United States.
Once Alberto was settled in the United States he found work as a Welder and worked for huge companies such as Arch & Western, Gilbert Southern, and Kaplated Brothers for over fifty years. Reliable, dependable, responsible, humble, and outstanding are all the things that he was and meant to these companies. He retired from with grace. After retired he and his wife moved back to Honduras. They open up Gordon Discotec which they owned and operated for several years.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife Alma; daughter Maribel (Enrique) Alvarez, son Carlos (Maria), son Jose (Tonya) and daughter Ayesha (Victor) Quioto. He was the dear brother of Ivy Ramsey, the late Evelyn Grace Robinson (The late Thomas), the late Alfredo Gordon (Rosa), the late Guadalupe Gordon, Olga Velasquez (Aurelio), and the late Carlos Gordon (Maria); cherished grandfather of Yovani (Kayebis), Alina, Mildred (Jorge), Max,, Anthony, Amanda, Yahira (Johnny), and Brianna; great-grandfather of Carlos, Jazlyn, Aleni, Destiny, Zy’La, Romero, Marianna, Xena, and Jalani. He will truly be missed by all those who knew him.
