Dr. Al was a truly special person. If not for him, I'd no longer have my husband, Charlie, who on his best day is a difficult patient. A lesser person would have given up on him, but not Dr. Al who constantly encouraged us to stay the course and fight. I was lucky to have met this wonderful man who became a mentor, trusted friend, and support system during the most difficult times. I will miss him more than I can say.
