Ana Norinsky Honigfeld
Ana Lee Honigfeld (nee Norinsky) of Rockaway and Hypoluxo, Fla., died surrounded by family on
Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at JFK Hospital, Atlantis, Fla. She was 87. Born in Newark and a 1945
graduate of Southside High School, Ana taught elementary school for 35 years, mostly in
Parsippany-Troy Hills where she served as vice president of the district NJEA chapter. She gave up a promising solo singing career because of her overriding desire to teach, earning a master's degree at Teachers College, Columbia University. Ana was married for 61 years to Theodore A. Honigfeld. In addition to her husband, survivors include a sister, Doris Abell of St. Augustine Fla.; children Steve Honigfeld (Lisa) of West Hartford, Conn.; Elliot Honigfeld (Kate) of Merchantville; Ruth Honigfeld (Neil Reisner) of Hollywood, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Philip, Sarah, Julia and Sophia Honigfeld and Jolie and Aleeza Reisner.
