Andrea Kary Greenberg's Obituary
GREENBERG, Andrea Kary, 54 passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at her home in Miami. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Andrea graduated from Temple University in 1985 with a Bachelors in Journalism & Public Relations. Andrea was loved and respected by all who knew her, and helped shape the South Florida real estate community with creative perfection. She was a celebrated marketing expert who worked with the city’s most prominent developers. Most recently, Andrea reached new career heights with her own consulting firm. She was active in many charitable organizations, including the Jewish Adoption & Family Care, Humane Society of Greater Miami, and most recently, hurricane relief efforts for the Florida Keys. Andrea is survived by her fiancée Alejandro Aparicio, sister Valerie Greenberg, niece Colby Itkoff and nephew Joseph Itkoff. The Humane Society of Greater Miami has been helping homeless animals in Miami-Dade County since 1936. Today, more than 400 homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens each day are cared for at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center in North Miami Beach. Andrea deeply loved her dog, “Clooney” and genuinely cared for all animals. The Andrea Greenberg Project was created to help fund a variety of the Humane Society’s efforts to help homeless animals in Miami.

JAFCO’s mission is to care for abused and neglected children and those with disabilities in the Jewish community while working in partnership with families and the entire community to provide foster care, adoption, family preservation, mentoring, independent living and developmental disability programs. The Andrea Greenberg Holiday Fund was created to fund a holiday gift giving effort for the children in need at JAFCO, a project that Andrea organized annually among her friends.
