Andrew H. Adler's Obituary
ADLER, ANDREW HOWARD, beloved son of Cecile Hatfield, and constant friend to many, passed away on October 12, 2016, at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Miami Beach, Florida, from cancer after a short illness. He was born at Mt. Sinai Hospital 54 years ago. Andrew was a caring and generous person. He will be remembered for his acts of kindness to those in need, as well as family and friends. He had great compassion for animals and loved his two cats, Summer and Autumn. He made his mother, Cecile Hatfield, believe she was the luckiest mother in the world because of his ever constant love, respect and thoughtfulness. Andrew attended the Lehrman Day School in Miami Beach, Florida, as a child. He started High School at the Lawrenceville Preparatory School in Princeton, New Jersey. He attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he majored in avionics. He also attended the University of District of Columbia, Washington, DC for computer science skills. While in Washington, DC, he worked for the Pentagon and U.S. Navy Yard. On his return to Miami, Florida, Andrew was employed for 20 years as a computer systems engineer for financial institutions. Computer Science was his passion. He also established his own company and severed as a computer consultant. Andrew is survived by his mother, Cecile Hatfield, his sisters, Laurie Bauman and Loris Adler, his brothers, Mark Adler, Matthew Adler and Neal Adler. He was preceded in death by his father, Morton Adler. Andrew was also survived by a loving niece, two nephews and many loving cousins. We deeply grieve the loss of a remarkable and loving, compassionate man. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 18840 West Dixie Hwy., North Miami Beach, Florida, 33180. Memorial donations in Andrew's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis, Bethesda, Maryland and the Humane Society of U.S.A., 1255 23rd Street, NW, Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037.
