Annette Willis' Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Annette Willis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Born September 17, 1933, in Boston Massachusetts she died unexpectedly on October 3rd at 91 years old. She was the daughter of Abraham and Pauline Sheingold and sister to Joe Sheingold. She completed high school in Boston and soon after met Sheldon (Shelly) her husband to be for 63 wonderful years. They began their family in Boston before moving to Florida in 1959. She was a wonderful mom to her four boys and a great partner to Shelly, helping him with his various businesses by doing all the bookkeeping and other paperwork. When the boys were old enough, she went to work in the insurance business and started her own insurance agency in 1976, Annette Willis Insurance. All four sons came into the business, and they all worked together for 40 years helping thousands of people with their insurance needs. The family grew and grew and today she is survived by her sons and their wives, Larry (Robin), Jeff (Sue), Scott (Perla) and Daniel (Ellen). She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Rebecca (Jonathan), Alyssa (Jeff), Aaron (Elise), Jonathan, Cory (Daniela), Mara (Stuart), Deena (Shaun), Jay, Aaron (Alana), Markie (Bryan), Rachel (Zachary), Jessica, and Adam. She had 10 great grandchildren, Logan, Max, Stella, Alexandra, Leo, Sophia, Elliot, David, Charli and Isla, and two on the way. The grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much joy and love. She was a fun-loving grandma to them. She loved taking them shopping, to the beach or the circus. She loved buying them gifts, like every Hess truck for the last 40 years but the best was just having them sleep over her house. She had many friends with whom she shared many wonderful times and experiences. She was a voracious reader and was in several book clubs. She loved to play cards and recently took up bridge. She always looked forward to her weekly game. She was a great sports fan, cheering on all the local teams.
Judaism played a key role in her life, and she was a dedicated member of many synagogues during her lifetime. She always wanted to learn more and participated in many Jewish adult education classes. She appreciated everyone and everything in life. She knew how blessed she was and we know how blessed we were to have her in our lives for so long. Life will not be the same without her but she will live forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Annette Willis to any Jewish organizations. Chapel Service will be held on Sunday October 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Levitt-Weinstein Blasberg Rubin- Zilbert Memorial Chapel located at 18840 W. Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida 33180 (305) 932-2700.
