Dear Yolanda, Tamara and Carlos,
How terribly sad we all are to hear of the loss of irreplaceable Arno.
He inspired all who knew him and had the pleasure of meeting him.
He loved all of you with his very being.
We all are the better for knowing him and he
and his many contributions to education will live on forever
as will our many fond memories of him.

Arno Erban Teacher, survivor, husband, father, and grandfather and lover of freedom.
One of Arno's favorite sayings was "every day since I was released from the consentration camp I have been on vacation."
How fortunate we are as Americans to have had him with us as a friend and as a teacher of history. Arno was living history to the hundreds of students he mentored. He left
children so impressed with his experiences that they learned the meaning of oppression
and the hardships that a government gone astray can and did perpetuate on its citizens.
It made all of his students better Americans and they will tell you that they now pay more careful attention to current events and their government.
I visualize him with my late husband Judge William J. Lederer arguing the law on some recent legislation.
