Arnold Levin's Obituary
Levin, Arnold of North Miami Beach, FL passed away Wednesday, October 24th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 72. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Arnie graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in civil engineering. He then worked for ten years with the Army Corps of Engineers in Pennsylvania, overseeing bridge, highway and dam projects. In 1971, he and his family moved to Florida to join his father and builder George G. Levin in the rental real estate business. Arnie owned and managed both ocean front and garden type residential real estate for over the past forty years. His greatest love was for his family. As an extremely devoted husband, father and grandfather, Arnie enjoyed spending time with his family every day, and was so much a part of their lives. He also enjoyed horse racing, the stock market, and sports, with a particular passion for tennis. He helped to coach both his son and granddaughter to be highly ranked competitive tennis players. He was noted for his innovative ways of solving complex problems ranging from construction projects to financial matters. Arnie also had a one of a kind sense of humor that entertained all. By far, his greatest accomplishment and legacy is the beloved family he left behind. His wife Anita, who was his high school sweetheart and the love of his life for over fifty years, and his cherished children Jodi (Lee) Pravder of Miami, Marci (Richard) Herman of West Bloomfield, MI, and his son and best friend Jeffrey Levin of Aventura, as well as his 5 grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Mindy, Amy, Sarah, Amanda and Joshua. He is also survived by his brother Phillip (Fran) Levin of MI, and his sister Gail (Walter) Fried of Chicago, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed by family and friends. We will forever keep him in our hearts, with his loving generosity, great strength, humor and wisdom. A special thanks to Dr. Daniel Cherqui and his team at New York Presbyterian Cornell Weill Medical Center for their unmatched care and expertise. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Levitt-Weinstein (305) 932-2700. Services will be held at Beth David Memorial Chapel 3201 N.W. 72nd Avenue., Hollywood, Fl 33024 on Monday, October 29th at 2pm.
