Arthur J. Kline's Obituary
Kline, Arthur J. (July 26, 1924 – August 23, 2014)
Born in Upper Montclair, New Jersey in 1924, Arthur moved to Miami Beach in 1935 and was forever after, a Miami resident. He served in the Army Air Corp as a Second Lieutenant and Navigator (B29) from 1942 until 1945; after discharge Arthur spent his undergraduate years at Texas Tech followed by the University of Miami Law School – Class of 1949. Upon graduation, Arthur was extremely proud to join the firm of Warren, Klein, Lehrman, Shorenstein and Kline and that the firm today of Kline, Moore & Klein, has passed through successive generations of two families with continued success. Arthur was an extraordinary son, husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law; predeceased by his wife of 53 years Sheila, he is survived by his sons Kevin, Lawrence (Emilio) and Robert (Lori), his grandchildren Nathaniel and Danielle and much-loved extended family Carolyn (Andy) and Mitchell (Stacey). Arthur was the consummate contrarian; the answer to every numerical question was 32 and to every question about color, the answer was always teal –for reasons that remained clear only to Arthur. He enjoyed the perception of being viewed the curmudgeon when in reality he was warm, loving and with an impish sense of humor that we treasure. Arthur honored, respected, occasionally mocked, and forever loved his late wife Sheila; she remains today, eight years after her passing, defined in memory as the love of his life. A devoted father; he raised his three sons to understand the importance of integrity and compassion with an equal interest in the importance of fishing. Arthur and his sons began fishing together in the 1960’s in South Florida and continued that tradition for 50 years across Alaska, British Columbia, Costa Rica and the Galapagos. Arthur was a Trustee and Member of the Board of Mt. Sinai Medical Center and a Benefactor of the Diabetes Research Institute. Arthur enjoyed the wonderful companionship these past two years with Mira Gaines who made life less lonely and significantly happier. Gratitude and thanks to Dr. Neil Schneider and Dr. Daniel Mintz for their extraordinary medical care over so many decades. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation or Mt. Sinai Medical Center. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, August 25th at 11:00AM at Mount Nebo – 5505 NW 3rd Street, Miami. Arrangements by Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert (305) 865-2353
