Barry was like a second father to me and often said I was like the daughter he never had. He loved his wife, Ellen, and his two sons, who are also like family to me. When I passed 70, I began to be nostalgic for the good old days in Miami. Not sure why it took me so long to write this tribute. My last memory of a "road trip" with Barry was when he asked me to drive through the new downtown Miami. We tried to remember where the old places were; the HoJo's, DuPont Plaza (where I once worked) and the Omni Mall. They were all gone or dwarfed by the new skyscrapers. I miss having "lunch" at Dennys. He once told me that when your family and friends are dead, you start to feel old. Of course, he was correct and I have very few friends to visit in Miami these days. I feel the loss of the paradise days of Miami and so many wonderful family and friends.
