Beatrice "Bea" Reiss Rosen's Obituary
ROSEN, Beatrice “Bea” Reiss a beloved wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, passed away on February 13, 2018, just seven weeks after her husband, Robert. During their 65 years of marriage they were inseparable, and are now together, again. Bea was born in Plainfield, New Jersey to Isidor and Sarah Reiss, raised alongside seven brothers and sisters. During World War II, she proudly served in the Army (Women’s Army Corp) as a radio operator. After marrying Robert in Plainfield in 1952, they moved to Florida and she managed his medical office in Surfside for many years, only taking time off to raise their son, Seth. Bea and Bob lived in Bay Harbor Islands for 45 years, and then in Quayside, before moving to Kendall two years ago. Bea, a Life member of Hadassah, was also involved in various volunteer and charitable organizations. Her hobbies included tending to the dozens of rose bushes outside their house in Bay Harbor, always maintaining a house full of fresh roses. Bea lived a life defined by her deep loyalty and devotion to those she loved, seen every day by her faithfulness to Robert, Seth and his family. Surviving her is her son, Seth (and wife Melanie Dernis-Rosen), her grandchildren, Samantha and Ross, who she was very proud of and adored, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Bea was predeceased by her husband, Robert, and seven brothers and sisters, Sam, Max, Clara, Pauline, Teenie, Morris and Herman. The family would like to thank Dr. Cindy Mitch-Gomez for her care throughout the years, as well as Bea’s aids, Yusimi, Maritza and Ivana. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Beatrice Rosen may be made to: Temple Beth Sholom - Miami Beach www.tbsmb.org, Temple Judea- Coral Gables www.judeagables.org, Temple Bet Shira - Pinecrest www.betshira.org or the Charity of one’s choice.
