I was a delivery driver for modern starting in 1974, Mr. Grenald taught me to drive like a race driver.
The pharmacy was like a situation comedy, with every possible type of character (remember Shirley, Ira, and Juan)
If I live to 100 I am sure I will think of he and his on my last day.

I’m so unbelievably sorry to this beloved man’s family. I was his admin at the City of Miami Beach. This kind, generous man made me feel like family. Since 1962 going to Moderne Pharmacy is one of my favorite memories....Ben's invention of Shuttle Lotion was a huge accomplishment.....Also, if my memory is correct, mascara remover pads !! Ben and Selma were loving, doting parents and wonderful friends...Everyone on Miami Beach knew them. I am so sad to know they both have passed....love and prayers from me to the entire family
I was at Modern Pharmacy almost every day as a young person. Ben was so kind and always smiled. We remember him as our friend and guru when we were ill.
He had a long and wonderful life and I know he is in heaven with his beloved wife Selma

Myrna and I are two of the most fortunate people in the world. We came to know Ben maybe 12 years ago and every moment shared with him, Selma and the family was nothing but joyful. We will miss him immensely. He meant the world to us. With love from the Bramsons.
Around this time seven years ago, I met and interviewed the most wonderful people, Selma and Ben Grenald. I wrote a story about Ben for the Miami Herald that reconnected him with lost friends around the world and he was so grateful. I was even more grateful for this new friendship.
The problem with living to 100 is that so many of your good works and accomplishments become part of your family's history, but few others know. Ben and I talked a lot and he taught me many lessons about caring, service, and love for his Selma and family.
He told me he would make it to 100 and he did it! I will never forget him.
