Benjamin Ross Berman 's Obituary
It is with great heartache and sadness that I am saying goodbye to my son, the love of my life, Benjamin Ross Berman. He came into this world on January 15 1985. He was a beautiful, wonderful, caring and compassionate young man. He brought me such joy. I never knew how much I could love anyone. He was talented, and funny, a theatre geek. Les Miz was his all time favorite. Recently he was all excited by Hamilton. He called me and said "mom, you gotta go on line and read all the words to the songs for Hamilton, because you will never understand them otherwise. Then go on YouTube and watch the performances it's so good" He wanted to be in the theatre, or on stage doing comedy. It was not to be, Ben had demons that took over his soul. He could not fight them, and his life ended early Sunday morning August 28, 2016. He leaves behind his loving family. His mother Cindy Strienfeld, stepdad Howard Strienfeld, grandmother Natalie Schwartz, grandfather David Schwartz, stepsister Paula Marietta, her husband Alfred Marietta and children AJ and Joey Marietta, stepbrother Michael Strienfeld, great aunt Shirley, great uncle Al, Godmother Dorothy Landes. And his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Hopefully his late father Stephen Berman greeted him as he entered paradise.
My friend, Christine Thomas, sent me this poem that really are the words in my heart
I would give my life to have you back,
Said the Mom
I know you would, said her child.
I cry each night for you, said the Mom
And I catch all of your tears said her child
I pray for the day
That I can see you again,
Said the Mom
Just close your eyes and you can see me,
Said her child
I am always just a dream away.............
You are the first person who loved me,
And you are the first person I loved.
You were always there
when I needed you,
And you always knew
when I needed a hug.
I am here for you now, mom
In your heart and in your soul.
I did not take your heart with me
Instead I left mine with you to hold.
One day I will take your hand
And lead you to paradise,
But until then my beautiful mother,
When you want to see me
You only need to close your eyes....
