Benjamin Karafin's Obituary
KARAFIN, BEN of PEMBROKE PINES, FL. (1924- 2017), passed away on January 16, 2017.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, & great-grandfather. He was predeceased by Edith (Seigel) Karafin, his wife of 47 years in 1993. He is survived by his longtime companion & wife Lea Toledo-Karafin, son Scott, daughter-in-law Meri, daughter Linda Graditor, son-in-law Warren Graditor, grandchildren Jeremy, Sean (wife Monica, son Asher), & Sara, step-daughter Rosana Peace, & step-grandsons George, Jeremy, & Benjamin. Originally from Boston, he moved to Miami in 1954 & Pembroke Pines in 1984. He served in the Navy from 1942-46, in Naval Intelligence and the South Pacific. He worked for various government agencies, including 30 years for the Postal Service in Miami. He was an ardent tennis player. Chapel Services & burial will be at Levitt Weinstein/Beth David Memorial Gardens, 3202 N. 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 19th.
