Bette Sternfeld's Obituary
STERNFELD, Bette of Miami Beach and formerly of Forest Hills, New York, passed away on June 20th at 70 in the loving arms of her husband Hy. Bette fought a valiant & courageous battle with endometrial cancer and finally lost her fight to AML leukemia. Born on November 16, 1944 in New York and moved to Florida in 1983, Bette was one of the kindest souls to ever walk this earth. She loved nature over all material things. Bette was happiest rock hounding and traveling out west to see all the treasures this earth has to offer. She was a loving mother to her daughter Gerri, her son-in-law Mitch and a devoted wife of 49 years to her husband Hy. She loved to write of her life experiences and travels. Her greatest pride besides being a mother was being a published author. She wrote articles on subjects that ranged from the Elvis museum in Memphis to important breakthrough medical procedures. These articles were read in almost every language and as far away as Japan. One of her greatest passions was immersing herself in Native American culture, and from those experiences she wrote a book published just a short while ago called Beauty Way that is now in book stores across continents. To walk in beauty is a Native American philosophy where one lives in concert with the beauty of the rhythm of all life as well as spirit. May she walk in beauty for all time. Graveside Service 11:00 a.m., TODAY, Tuesday, June 23rd at Mount Sinai Cemetery, 1125 NW 137th St., Miami. Arrangements by Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert (305) 538-6371
