Betty Bagliebter's Obituary
BAGLIEBTER
Betty (nee Berman), 93, died on Sunday, December 30, at her home in Aventura, Florida. Born on May 25, 1919, in Vinnitsa, Russia, she was one of four children of the late Mana and Gussie Berman, all of whom are deceased. The family had immigrated to the United States in 1921 and moved to Ellenville, New York shortly thereafter. For 52 years she was married to Jack Bagliebter, also of Ellenville, prior to his death in 1999. Together, they were the successful owners of the former Ellenville Wood Novelty Co., Inc. Betty is survived by her three sons, Gary (Tobie), a lawyer with Shutts & Bowen, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, William (Lynn), a lawyer with Duane Morris in New York City, and David (Judy), President of a 3D image company, in Westchester County, New York, her grandchildren Dana, Alicia, Jessica, Daniel, Michael, Michelle and Jamie, and four great-grandchildren, Alexa, Jaykob, Emma and Nathan.
In consideration of her many years of devoted service to Youth Aliyah, a child rescue program that Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, helped create in 1934 and is today helping resettle the children of the Ethiopian and Russian migrations to Israel, the family has asked that any donations be made to that program in Betty’s name, and sent to Hadassah, Youth Aliyah Program, 50 West 58th Street, New York, NY 10019. Services and interment in New York.
