I know Blanche as Karen's mother. I spent many occasions with the two of them and always enjoyed Mrs. Fisher. She was interested in me, kind, enthusiastic about my being there - and a great hostess. We had fun times going to the flea market, sunning and swimming at her condo pool, having a few drinks together, dining with some extended family, and just chatting. I always looked forward to seeing her, and I feel sad to know I won't be a able to visit her anymore..Karen was diligent about always visiiting her mother while I was in Florida vacationing. So I got to spend time with her mother every year - a highlight of being there!

It is with sadness, but honor for having known Blanche, that I am acknowledging her & her wonderful demeanor. She and my mother, Minna Welkind, were dear friends for over 70 years. She was always highly regarded and loved by my family. She and her beloved husband, Melvin, began a cherished family with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on with all of her attributes which she passed on to her family, such as her kindness, positiveness, pleasantness, and devotedness as a great person, family member, and friend. I know that my mother, Minna, and my sisters, Debbie and Stephanie, share in this loss.
