Bob Albrecht's Obituary
Bob Albrecht, 78, Athens died unexpectedly of a kidney infection in Miami, Florida while on vacation.
After selling the Farmers’ Mill in 1991, he entered into a second career as an international agricultural consultant; specializing in animal nutrition and grain production. He was a dedicated humanitarian who spent 25 years training poor small holder farmers in Central and South America, Eastern Europe, Russia, The Far East and Africa. Through his training, thousands of poor farmers were able to increase their incomes, improve the lives of their families, and send their children to school. He worked in some of the most dangerous parts of the world including Iraq and Afghanistan.
Bob was award the Presidential Humanitarian Service Award by Presidents George Bush and Barack Obama.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary and three daughters, Kristin Albrecht, Karen Albrecht, Lee Biear and three grandchildren Maddie, Morgan and Miles.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Albrecht Family (P.O. Box 317, Athens, Wisconsin 54411) for a memorial in his name. The funds will used to build low technology farm machinery in Africa.
