Brenda Hannah Primak's Obituary
Our precious “Brandy” Brenda Hannah Primak nee Golin has been taken from us unexpectedly on Saturday, June 22, 2024. At 86, she personified all the qualities of her heartfelt feelings for her loved ones, husband Larry, son Stephen, daughter Linda Berzofsky, son-in-law David, grandchildren Asher, Emma, Annie and great grandson, Sebastian. Brandy was also aunt to a myriad of nieces and nephews.
When little more than a child herself, Brandy helped her mom, Eve, in strip furniture. By the time she was 15 the Golin family had moved from frigid Boston to Miami where she attended Miami High, graduating and attended the University of Miami and working as the secretary to the Insurance and fire commissioners for the State of Florida. A position she left when she met Larry Primak, a Miami News staffer in 1959. Late that year they became engaged and married in July of 1960.
Early in 1960s Larry landed the newly opened IHOP restaurant chain for the Miami News with the opening of store number two and together with Brandy the duo helped the franchise grow to 94 stores over a span of 18 years.
Among her most rewarding memories are from the years spent as secretary to three of Temple Israel’s rabbis. A tireless worker she left an indelible mark on the work at hand and to the countless people she met.
Working with husband Larry for years. Brandy was the driving force of Primak Advertising.
Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday June 26, 2024, at 2:00pm at Lakeside Memorial Park 10301 NW 25th Street, Miami Florida 33172. Arrangement by Levitt Weinstein Blasberg Rubin Zilbert Memorial Chapel (305) 932-2700.
