Brian Strelitz
Dear Family,
I did not know Isaac. But I so wish I had known him.
I read the obituary in the Herald the other day. Then I read it again. Then I showed my wife, Then I emailed it to family members of mine. Then I read it again.
You are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to share in his amazing life. And to have the personal memories of him, of his stories, of his passion for Israel, of his bravery, of his adventures, and on and on, Lithuania, the Reali School, Haganah, the Technion (of the 1940's, not today's), the British blockade, Basel, McGill. It reads like a book that I so want to read.
I too am a Zionist, but as I read about Isaac, I read a biography that is more consistent with my aspirations than with my accomplishments. That difference leaves me in total admiration for Isaac. And I want to know more.
I would love the opportunity to hear more about Isaac directly from you, his family and loved ones. Anytime, after Shiva, or after things have settled down.
For now, I extend my sincere condolences on your loss. May you all be blessed and comforted, and grow stronger and stronger with your memories of a very special man.
