Carlos Manuel Galagarza's Obituary
Carlos Manuel Galagarza of Miami Beach, Florida, formerly of Remedios and Havana, Cuba, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the young age of 98½. He is preceded in death by his wife Orlaida Bofil Galagarza, his parents Carlos Manuel Galagarza Ribadeneira and Juanita Muñiz de Galagarza, his aunt Conchita Muñiz de Gárate, his sister Antoñica Martel de Galagarza and her husband Carlos Manuel Martel. His surviving relatives are Nephew Carlos Martel Galagarza and Carlos’ wife Carol Muldoon Martel. Carlos was a law graduate of the University of Havana. He was a practicing attorney in Havana before being named Notary of the Municipality of San Antonio de los Baños on the outskirts of Havana. He emigrated to the United States shortly after the Cuban revolution, had businesses in Miami and Puerto Rico and was also a Spanish professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. He and his wife retired to Miami Beach in the early 1980s. A Visitation will be held on from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 20th at Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel, 720-71st Street, Miami Beach, Florida. Graveside Service will take place on Friday, July 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn North Cemetery, 3260 SW 8th Street, Miami. Arrangements by Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel (305) 865-2353.
