Carol Mae Schomer's Obituary
SCHOMER, CAROL MAE, 86, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2017. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Morton Schomer, O.D. She will be remembered as a sweet and loving wife, mother, nana, friend, and cheerful social planner to many. Carol met Mort at The Ohio State University, where she was studying to be a lab technician. As an Optometry student, Mort swept her off her feet with the line, "Can I examine your eyes?" They married in 1952 in Cleveland Ohio, where they raised their family, enjoyed good times with friends, and traveling. They cruised their boat down to Florida in 1979, continued to dance the night away, and were blessed with 62 wonderful years of marriage. Carol is survived by her loving children, Steven Schomer of Miami FL, Lisa Schomer Eichenbaum (Barry) of Miami, FL and Lynda Schomer Mecoli of Hollywood, FL. Carol will also be missed as a cherished nana by Rachel (Steven) Abbott, Rebecca Eichenbaum, and Kayla Mecoli.
