Channon Band's Obituary
Channon Band, a year-round Boca Raton resident and active member of the Boca Raton Synagogue and Jewish community, passed away Friday, September 13th at the age of Ninety-nine. Channon, originally from Berlin, New Hampshire, met the love of his life, Frances Shulman, at a New Year’s Eve Party in Cambridge, MA in 1939. Their love and devotion to one another was evident to all that knew them, every day of their 78 years together. Channon served for two and a half years in the Armed Forces in Italy during WWII. He was a Charter Member of the National WWII Museum. A graduate of Northeastern University, he was a certified CPA in Massachusetts and Florida. Channon worked for the IRS for thirty-five years, then became a CFO for a private company for ten years before retiring and moving to Boca Raton. In addition to being survived by his beloved wife Frances; the couple had twin daughters, Eileen and Roberta; three grandchildren Keith, Heather, and Amy; four great-grandchildren, Noffiya, Elnadav, Shelhevet, and Travis; a dear Nephew Phil Frank and his children Brenda, Judy, Howard; great nephew Harrison and great niece Julie and together many beloved friends, siblings, cousins and loved ones throughout the South Florida and Boston area. Services will be held at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park on Sunday, September 15th at 1pm.
