Charles Fenstersheib's Obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Fenstersheib, 98, of Pembroke Pines, Florida on Wednesday March 5, 2025. He was a beloved son, father, father-in-law, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Charles was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he grew up one of 7 children and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He joined the Navy at 18 and served through-out WWII as a navy corpsman.
Charles married his beloved Ethel and had three children, Marty, Lynn, and Robert. All his children became successful professionals as a Doctor, Special Education Teacher, and Lawyer.
Charles was a very gifted realtor and broker in Pittsburgh. He moved his family to Miami in 1972 to look for more opportunities and to get away from the cold climate. His daughter Lynn married Alex Binstock, who gave him his first two grandsons, Jared and Jeremy who became successful lawyers and gave Charles 5 great-grandchildren. His youngest son, Robert married and had 3 children, Michael, Stephanie, and David who also became successful lawyers and gave Charles 3 additional great-grandchildren. Marty, his oldest son became a pediatrician and Public Health expert living in California with his husband Gam, yes, another lawyer.
After losing his beloved Ethel in 1998 to lung cancer, he chose longtime friend, Barbara to spend his final 26 years as his second wife. Barbara brought 2 daughters to the family, Cheryl and Laurie, who has two children, one who has a son, bringing the total great-grandchildren to 9.
Charles loved people, and his family most of all. He was kind and generous to everyone, and never did he have an ill word for anyone. Throughout his 98 years, he traveled to many countries, but was most comfortable at home. He had a very successful real estate office in Hallandale which had a reputation for fairness and honesty.
Charles was a one-of-a-kind man, with a goodness about him that doesn’t come around very often. He will be missed by all of us, “but because we knew him, we have been changed for the good.” God Bless you Charles.
