Claudine (nee' Osmo) Kay's Obituary
Claudine Kay (née Osmo)
Peacefully, with great courage and dignity and surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, November 25, at the age of 79. Her passing follows a lengthy series of illnesses and a hard-fought fight for over a decade.
Adored wife of Serge Kay. Deeply loved mother and mother-in-law of Randy Kay and Stuart Kugler, Charles Kay and Vanessa Stettler. Cherished Nana of Jill and Katie Kugler, Clara and Chloe Kay. Devoted sister and best friend of Hilda Roiter, and sister-in-law of Sonia Wachsberg, the late Lou Wachsberg and the late Howard Roiter. Cherished aunt of Bonnie and Kelli Roiter, Charles Wachsberg, and Richard and Nathalie Wachsberg. Loved by many great-nieces and great-nephews. Loving dog-mom of Buddy.
Beloved daughter of the late Esther and Albert Osmo. Born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1946, Claudine grew up in Israel from the age of 2 until her late teens, when her family immigrated to Montreal. There she met her beloved husband Serge Kay and for 56 years, together they built a life rooted in devotion and family.
During her 36 years in Montreal, she raised her children Randy and Charles. She and Serge then moved to the United States, where they spent her final 26 years in south Florida.
A gifted artist from a young age, she continued to express herself through her painting and sculpture throughout her life.
We extend our deepest gratitude to caregiver Pauline, Dr. De Feria, Aimee, Zack and his caring staff at the Palace at Weston for their excellent care.
Funeral and burial will take place in Florida at Beth David Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Gardens, on Friday, November 28 at 11:30am. Shiva will be held at the Palace at Weston on Friday following the funeral; and in Montreal at 207 Harland Road, Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Hilda will sit shiva at the Parker Plaza in Hallandale from Monday to Thursday.
