Cornelia was an original, a charmer, a friend, an open mind to new ideas who had an appreciation for tradition. She possessed the sharpness and ability to rapidly value worthwhile information. Politics fascinated her. She loved serious discussions and studying various political positions.
Her personal background was stunning! Cornelia came from a legacy family. She was a proud Miami Beach sabra whose father, an attorney, was elected to the City Council and her mother taught many hundreds of school children their ABCs. Cornelia loved teaching, too. She understood the sacrifices but also counted the rewards from watching light bulbs go on in her student’s heads.
Most of all, with all her travels and adventures, with her college years up north, Cornelia was grounded with Miami Beach High School and her Class of ‘58. She gave much and asked for little. She was a class leader and could
be counted on to be actively involved with the school’s alumni association.
Cornelia touched many lives. Her warmth and never-ending smile leaves an indelible memory with everyone.
Somehow, condolences and sympathies do not seem sufficiently fulfilling.
We all will miss our beloved Cornelia. Bless her.
