Daniel Rosenfeld's Obituary
Daniel Rosenfeld of Aventura, Florida passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday after a long illness. He was 88.
Born in Haifa on 10/25/29 to Solomon and Elise (Rosenbloom) Rosenfeld, he was the oldest of two children. At age 14 he was enlisted in the Haganah due to his knowledge of many languages. Later he fought in the Israeli war of Independence. Following the war he established himself on the international banking scene ultimately becoming VP of a Swiss Bank in America.
A true renaissance man, he kept reinventing himself. Retiring from banking after 30 years, he followed his passion for renovation and restored Searles Castle, of Great Barrington, Massachusetts to its original glory. Thus began his new career restoring and managing properties. He formed Castle Management in Scarsdale, NY where he remained until moving to Florida in 1996. There, he continued restoring old office buildings until retiring.
He leaves behind his wife, Joan, his soulmate and love of his life of 37 years. He will be remembered as a loving father to his children, Maryland (Chris Franklin), Kathleen (Bennett), and Michael (Christine Rosenfeld). Stepchildren Mara (Rick Bisesto) and Jonathan Friedman (Lisa Lepson) and was adored by 9 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Benjamin (Rika Rosenfeld).
We would also like to give many thanks to his loving caretaker, Enide.
A service will be held at Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 18840 W. Dixie Hwy, N. Miami Beach, FL on July 2nd @ 11:00 AM. The family will receive visitors immediately following on Monday, and on Tuesday at their home in Aventura.
Memorials may be made in Daniel’s honor to the American Friends of Magen David Adom.
