Dave May's Obituary
MAY
Dave, 87, of Aventura, FL, passed away on April 26. 2013. He was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Joy Berick May; their children, Richard May (Marcelle) and Debbie Rattner (Steve); and grandchildren, Carly May, Elyse May, Alex Rattner, and Jason Rattner. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Somerstein (Sy); his aunt, Ruth Shapiro, many nieces and nephews; and predeceased by his brother, Irving May. A long time Miami Beach resident, he owned and operated Giant Motors Auto Body & Paint until he retired in 1990. The family thanks Dr. Neil Schneider for his incredible care throughout the years.
The family requests that donations be made in Dave’s memory to American Cancer Society 800-227-2345 or Vitas Community Hospice 305-420-2894. Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 28 at Temple Beth Sholom, 4144 Chase Avenue, Miami Beach.
