David B. Kaplan's Obituary
David B. Kaplan, 46, son of Hon. Jonathan and Linda Kaplan, died unexpectedly February 11, 2018 at his home in Davie, FL. David embraced life. He was a loving and devoted parent to Olivia and Jacob. He dedicated his world to them. An accomplished professional magician, he performed throughout Florida and beyond. He taught his children magic and they sometimes served as his assistants at shows.
David was passionate about his family and friends. He will be sorely missed. Other interests include the Red Sox, Key West, Jimmy Buffett, the Everglades, music, nature, and acting in regional theater. In addition to his parents and children, he is survived by his brother Scott Kaplan, niece and nephew, Sophie and Able Kaplan, and many relatives and close friends.
An alumnus of South Windsor H.S., David graduated from Bryant University, Smithfield, R.I.
He was an active member of Ramat Shalom Synagogue, where he taught Sunday school. He was a member of S.A.M and I.B.M. magic societies. David was employed by Commercial Credit Corporation.
