I met David in New York City in 1967 when he and partner Jerry had a printing company, Ready for Camera. He was my Best Man when I got married in '69. When I was remarrying in '73, I asked him to be my Best Man again, but declining he said he was a jinx on the first one. I remember him riding around the City on his Norton motorcycle wearing his black studded suede outfit. He was wonderfully crazy and for the next two years ('70-'72) he'd come up to our W. 77th St. apartment and we'd play Gin Rummy most nights of the week watching out the window to see if Miles Davis was home across the street. David loved Jazz and the three of us would go to a club on 57th Street. After Janie and I moved to Miami we'd take David to the Airport Lounge for some local Jazz. During his last ten years or so David played the trumpet and was quite accomplished. When David would come and visit us in Atlanta he was able to relax for only so long and then he had to get back home. We had more than our share of good times. He also during the last years, enjoyed the daily devotions in the Word, coming out of The Times Square Church. So I'm comforted to be able to say, I'll see you David, in His Heaven by the Grace of God! Darryl Moran...Roswell Ga.
