David Press' Obituary
David Press, 84, passed away in the wee hours of January 13, 2017 in Hollywood, FL. with his daughters and dogs beside him. David had a long established career in the Navy and Air Force until he retired after 30 years. While in the Navy he participated in the hurricane hunters experiment. He left the Navy for the Air Force and joined the 915 Tac unit, out of Charleston, SC a medical unit and then joined the 482 Tac unit out of Homestead to be closer to his wife and family in Homestead, FL. His regular job was District Manager for the State of Florida Dept. of Unemployment in Compensation Tax. On weekends and nights, he worked in his in law's women specialty store called "Sapphires" in Bal Harbour, Surfside and Dadeland. He graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration. He made many friends that were friends until he passed. One friend introduced David to his cousin and a marriage was made until Francine’s passing on February 13, 1990. He is survived by his son Gary Press(Laura) Littleton, CO, and his daughter Doree and his companion for many years Maria. Services will be held at Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel/NMB 18440 Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, FL 33180 305-932-2700. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of your choice.
