Dr. David B. Ross' Obituary
Dr. David B Ross passed away peacefully late Tuesday night, September 13, 2022. He was surrounded by his family: his four children and his wife of forty-five years, Amy. With him in spirit were his nine grandchildren. With him in prayer were many others who he cared for and who cared for him. He was born on April 23, 1953 in New York. His father’s business led him to live and spend time in his childhood and adolescence in many places, including Kenya, South Africa, and Venezuela (where he became a fluent Spanish speaker). He attended Johns Hopkins University before studying medicine at the University of Miami and Harvard University. For the last four decades, he has served his patients and community as a neurologist in South Florida. Amy, his wife, was the love of his life and his favorite chef. Together, they traveled to countless countries and places. And watched countless romantic comedies and reruns of Seinfeld on quiet weekends. He was a college-level tennis player and he was unbeatable at chess. He loved to teach, to read, to travel. He loved to tell stories to patients and family—for him, they were one and the same. He thought he could help people and he did. He thought a single person could do great things, and he did. He is survived by his loving wife, Amy, his children, Ian, Gustave, Melanie, and Samuel, and his grandchildren, Charley, Oliver, Andrew, Ruby, Jonathan, Cameron, Jacob, Molly, and Charlotte. Chapel Service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Levitt-Weinstein at Beth David, 3201 North 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33024.
