Davida Ethel Loring's Obituary
LORING, Davida
Davida Ethel Loring, age 93, passed away peacefully with family February 18, 2016 in Tamarac, Florida. Davida was preceded in death by her parents Fay and Emil Rosenthal, her siblings Jeannette Beulah and Joel Rosenthal, and her beloved husband Myles Loring. Davida is survived by her loving family: her children Dean Loring, Lorraine Loring Jackman, Alice Loring, and Ellen Loring Sachs; and her grandchildren Joshua Jackman, Jeremy Jackman, Lilli Sachs, and Abbi Sachs; her son-in-laws Jim Jackman and Harley Sachs; and her nephews and nieces David Rosenthal, Richard Lebenson, Sue Loring Gurley, and Joan Loring, and many extended family members.
Davida was a graduate of Flushing HS in Flushing, NY, and attended business college for two years after which she was employed as a secretary during the latter part of World War II. After the war Davida was reconnected with Myles whom she knew since childhood. Both attended The Free Synagogue of Flushing as young children and then high school, and fell in love with each other. Davida and Myles were married on June 7, 1947 and shared almost 60 years of love, laughter, and friendship until Myles’ passing in January 2006.
Davida moved from NYC with her husband Myles and four young children to Broward County, Florida in February 1962. She has lived in Wilton Manors, Plantation, Lauderhill, and lastly, Tamarac. She raised four children and two dogs, and worked at several retail positions through the 1980s. Among her many endearing traits, Davida was a devoted wife and mother, homemaker, a loving, caring and hospitable friend to all who knew her. Davida’s many friends were always welcomed into her home and around her dinner table.
Davida devoted her life to her family; she was its bedrock, its soul, and it’s strength, passing on to her children, along with our father, the importance of love, family, and being yourself. She wanted only the best for those she loved and their love in return. Her passing was unexpected and is mourned by all who knew and loved her as is her life celebrated.
