Dear Al, I am so sorry I couldn't come to the Memorial Service for Debby. Billy called, and I was all set to come when I woke up ill that morning. I didn't think it would be safe to drive. If you could tell me your address, I'd love to come visit with you before I leave to return to Greenport on May 10. I've had so many compliments on the bust you so generously sculpted for me, and I want again to express my appreciation. I lost my wife Emma three years ago, and I know how hard this must be for you.
