Dina Sklawer's Obituary
Dina Sklawer (Luski), born September 6, 1933, passed away peacefully August 13, 2023. She is survived by her children Lenny (Karen) Sklawer, Miriam (Dan) Shir, grandchildren Jeremy (Rony) Shir, Allie (Lonny) Kapelushnik, Joey Shir, Mitch (Marisa) Sklawer, Andy (Jodi) Sklawer, Sam Sklawer and Josh (Stacey) Mandel, her sister and brother-in-law Bertica and Jules Mitnick, nephew Jeff (Jo) Mitnick, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Ismael (Mel) Sklawer, nephew Mark Mitnick, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Max and Julia Sklaver. Dina was born in Cuba to Menachem and Hanna Luski. She met her beloved husband at a dance in 1954, was married in 1955, and began their family . Their life was interrupted when they had to flee communism to start a new life in the US in 1962. They were eternally grateful and loved this country. They lived for their family, and we are forever thankful for their love and guidance and the example they set.
