He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Donald served in the Marines during the Korean War. He lived in Oceanside, New York; San Mateo, California; and Miami, Florida. Donald owned his own business called The New York Yarn Exchange Company in the New York City Garment District. He leaves 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
