Donald's mother Claire and my mother Sara were sisters born 3 years apart, so they were very close which in turn made Donald a close cousin to me. We shared a lot as children and he was at our home quite a bit. He called my mother "a kitchen mother," since his mother did not cook like her baby sister and it fascinated him as a youngster. When he moved to Overbrook Park to live and open his shop, Aunt Sara and I became good customers. When he was between his own shop and opening Gordon-Phillips Beauty School, he lived in our recreation room in the basement and it was great having him with us. He did my hair in my kitchen, and also my mother's and my daughter Susan's. Donald was a body builder and encouraged my brother Ivan to follow, which he did. He loved to dance and showed my friends what he was capable of at my grandson's Bar Mitzvah in 1987. I have not seen Donald since he told me he was moving to Florida. After the close childhood we had, he will be very sadly missed. Deepest sympathy to his widow and his children and may he rest in peace. Cousin Ruthe Levin Kabler
