Donna Litowitz 93 of Miami Beach, Florida passed away peacefully at her home in Miami Beach on June 18, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Litowitz, after celebrating their 70th Wedding Anniversary. She is survived by her three children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her extended family, and her dear friends. Donna was born on February 21, 1928 and raised in Chicago, Illinois. After World War 2, she met her husband in Miami Beach, where they settled and raised their family. Beyond her busy family life, Donna actively participated in school and community activities, focusing on education and public television. She completed her college education as an adult, earning her bachelors in both photography and English. Donna's passion was Nature, and her Reverence for Life guided her path of creating the first Animal Ethics Study Center at Miami-Dade Community College. She also supported the creation of the Balkan Center for the treatment of childhood glaucoma at Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. Donna was a lady of style, humor, wit, and candor. Her keen and sensitive vision produced fine photographs with her camera. An avid reader, she enjoyed countless hours of literary pursuits in most diverse topics. She cared deeply about the well-being of her entire family, her dear friends, and about the ethical treatment of all animals.
Donna surely will be dearly remembered and loved by all who shared her life's journey with her. May she, now and forever, Rest In Peace.
