Dorothy O'Brien's Obituary
“Kathleen” Dorothy Jane O’Brien, 90, of Fort Lauderdale Florida, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016.
Born March 25, 1926 in Chicago Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Heath and the late Alice Olson-Heath-Roch and the step-daughter to the late Louis H Roch.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Carlos E O’Brien and her brother Donald Roch and her Granddaughter Elizabeth O’Brien-Weiss.
She is survived by her six siblings; Edith Roch, Christine Mosier, Edward Roch, Irene Horaceck and Marie Scott, all of Chicago, Illinois; and her seven children, Elena Grzenia and husband Jim of Chicago Illinois; Kathleen Grace and her husband Peter of Sebastian, Florida; Mary Anderson of Coral Springs, Florida; Peter F O’Brien of Hollywood, Florida; Patrick Fields-O’Brien and his husband Dezhon Fields-O’Brien of Oakland Park, Florida; Timothy O’Brien of Hollywood, Florida and Christopher O’Brien of Summit Illinois.
‘Grandma’ O’Brien is also survived by her 22 Grandchildren; Nisha, Robb O., Seann, Marcos, Anthony, Jerome, , Joseph O., Maria, Nathan, Matt, Heath, Courtney, Christopher, Erin, Joseph C., David, Robert C., Ron, Eli, Danielle, Gregg & Anna-Sophia; and her 23 Great-Grand Children.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale FL. at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 with “Father Bob” (Reverend Robert F. Tywoniak) officiating. A graveside service will be conducted immediately following the Mass at Mary Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
The Family will receive Friends at Levitt & Weinstein Memorial Chapel in Tamarac FL. from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016.
Flowers may be sent to the Levitt & Weinstein Memorial Chapel located at 8135 W McNab Rd.; Pompano Beach, FL 33321 or in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local Alzheimer’s Association or Senior Daycare Center.
