Dorothy M. Schulz's Obituary
Dorothy Moses Schulz, 1946-2024, was a remarkable woman with careers in law enforcement as the first female captain in railroad policing and commander of Metro North Police at Grand Central Terminal in New York City, and in academe teaching police science and administration at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. Dr. Schulz authored “From Social Worker to Crimefighter” and “Breaking the Brass Ceiling” as well as contributing to numerous books, academic journals, transit and security publications and general interest publications. She was a contributor to City Journal and addressed conferences around the world. She is survived by her husband, David.
