Edmond Yecheskel Eskenazi (Z'L)
(1934–2025)
Edmond Yecheskel Eskenazi passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at his home in Bal Harbour, Florida, surrounded by his beloved family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Rachel, his children Milie, Etty, and Eyal, his grandchildren Yonni, Efrat, Keren, Eythan, Talia, Maya, and Ben, and his great-grandchildren Adar, Neomi, Nathan, Levi, Ari, and Liora.
Edmond will be remembered as a man of deep integrity, warmth, and generosity. He dedicated 50 years of his professional life to Israel Discount Bank, where he served as a senior executive. He was instrumental in developing the international banking division, expanding its reach across South America. Respected by colleagues and admired for his wisdom and leadership, Edmond left a lasting mark on all who worked with him.
A proud Zionist, Edmond worked the land in Israel during the late 1940s and served in the Israel Defense Forces from 1952 to 1956, later returning to serve as a reservist during the Six-Day War in 1967.
His enduring love for Israel and Jewish heritage was a guiding force in his life and remains a cornerstone of his family’s identity. All of his children and grandchildren are yeshiva graduates, committed to passing on his values and traditions to future generations.
Edmond had a deep appreciation for culture and learning and was fluent in several languages. He was an avid reader, an excellent chess player, and a graceful swimmer. He had a lifelong love of classical music and could often be found enjoying his favorite compositions. He cherished traveling the world with his family, creating lasting memories and deepening the bonds that were most important to him.
To his family, Edmond was the grand patriarch—courageous, purposeful, and thoughtful. His wisdom and example lit the path for those who followed, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
May his memory be a blessing.
