Marlene N. Hoover
So very sorry to hear of Dr. Ed's passing. My precious "Special" daughter Dianna Lynn Hoover was his very first patient when he opened his practice on 163rd St. and shared his office with a GYN. Dr. Robert Pittell called his when Dianna was born and told him of her deformity and would need his expertise in structuring the center third of her face. He took so much pride in his very first patient as he did as he continued his practice. Needless to say Dianna, back then in 1963, would need many, many reconstructive surgeries that he performed. If you looked back at his albums the very first one, you will find Dianna's baby picture. He called one day and had me bring Dianna to Aventura to see his new and beautful office and ambulatory practice, took pride too to tell me his lovely wife designed and decorated this great place. He was not too fond of hospitals. I learned that many, many years ago of that fact, as Dianna had some close calls when she was in the hospitals after he would operate on her.
I wanted to write this as to me and all of the "Special" doctors Dianna has had mean the world to me and Dr. Ed will always have a very special place in my heart, as well as my families. Dianna lost herr daddy to Alz. in June of 2014, so I know the hurt you endured while you watched him slip away.
May God bless you and your lovely family and know I will keep you in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Marlene N. Hoover
