Florence Auerbach's Obituary
AUERBACHFlorence, 94 of Miami, formerly of Stuart, FL, passed away, October 31, 2012. Loving wife of the late Max Auerbach. Beloved mother of Larry (Chari) Auerbach of Port St. Lucie and Lynne (Marc) Cohen of Miami. Cherished grandmother of Dr. Adam (Anna) Auerbach of Concord, NC, and great-grandmother of Alec Max Auerbach. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention. Florence came from a pioneer family that settled on the Florida west coast in 1924 and moved to Stuart in 1936. She and her family owned the Stuart Department Store, a landmark in Stuart, FL for 50 years. She was a volunteer with the Martin County Library for 40 years. She was a member of the Martin County Historical Society and the Elliott Museum, which is the recipient of her extensive art glass collection and which contains the Auerbach dining room, representing Jewish culture.
