Florence Natalie Stern's Obituary
STERN, Florence Natalie, 74 years old, a life-long resident of Miami Beach, FL, passed away on July 6th, 2016. Florence was born in New York in 1942. She is preceded in death by her parents Milton and Ann Maronek and Mother-in-Law Frieda Stern. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dr. Sidney J. Stern.
Florence graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Nursing, and she worked for many years at Mount Sinai Hospital and South Miami Hospital. She and Dr. Stern have been long-time residents of Fisher Island and, together, were very involved in philanthropic activities.
During her life, Florence saw the world, often from the deck of a cruise ship, and she enjoyed every moment she had with her family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, Dr. Sidney Stern, she is survived by her children Lee, Marci, Jodi and Shauna, daughter-in-law Mary (Lee) and son-in-law Ari (Jodi), and her grandchildren Blake, Dylan, Farrah, Soshi, Andrew, Jordan and Wolfe. Florence is also survived by her sister-in-law Linda and her niece Shelly, nephew Matt and her grand-nephew Jacob.
Florence will be forever in our hearts... a worldly wise, warm, gracious and loving woman who loved life, totally and passionately.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Florence’s name to your favorite charity or Not-for-Profit Organization.
FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, JULY 8th, 2016, AT 11:00 am, AT THE BLASBERG-RUBIN-ZILBERT MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 720 - 71st Street; Miami Beach, FL 33141. (305) 538-6371. Interment will follow immediately after the funeral service, at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 N.W. 25th Street; Miami, FL 33172. The family will sit Shiva at the Stern residence.
